Couples who travel together, stay together! One of the best parts of being in a relationship is having a travel buddy for life. Anush and I absolutely love traveling together and are so grateful for all the valuable memories and experiences we have shared together, while exploring new parts of the world.
From our past travels, in this blog post I wanted to round up a list of our top Travel Bucket List ideas for Couples. These would make great vacay options for a honeymoon, special occasion or even a couples holiday that you want to take.
Putting this down as our no 1 bucket list idea! The Maldives is seriously a destination like none other and it is the ultimate couples getaway – with never ending white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters , dreamy over watervillas and so much more. Check out my travel guide to the Maldives HERE.
Bora Bora was a dream come true and everything I had imagined and more! It completely exceeded my expectations in every way. This idyllic South Pacific gem is an epitome of a luxurious island escape and is well known for it gorgeous views of the mountains, crystal clear lagoon, overwater villas and incredible marine life. Petra in Jordan is one of the most magical places Anush and I have ever visited! This Jordan adventure was so memorable and totally felt like we travelled back in time to explore the lost city. Check out my travel guide to Jordan HERE.
The Philippines is such a stunning island nation and with 7000 islands to explore you are really spoilt for choice! This is a great budget destination as well. Check out my guides to the islands of Bohol and Coron.
While beaches are our fave type of vacation, both Anush and I are suckers for mystical deserts! And there is nothing quite like the biggest desert in the world – the Sahara! Luxury glamping here was a dream come true. We especially loved the peace and solitude of the place as well as the camel rides on the never ending dunes, being able to see the milky way with our naked eyes (thanks to the 0 light pollution!), etc. Check out my travel guide HERE.
The Cook Islands is by far one of our favorite places we have ever visited! If you are looking for an untouched tropical paradise that is totally not commercialized, has very less tourists and still has its authentic traditional charm – the Cook Islands are for you! Hawaii is probably the destination we re-visit the most since we live in California. Maui is our fave Hawaiian island and is dear to us since we honeymooned here years ago! Maui still remains to be a fave with couples cos it offers so many fun things to do together. Check out my travel guide HERE.
Roadtrips are such a fun thing to do as a couple! Driving along the Chapmans Peak Drive (considered one of the most beautiful drives along the world!) is an absolute must if you ever go to South Africa. From the city of Cape Town, to the South African wine country, to safaris and the Cape of Good Hope this is one of the most unique places we have visited.
Our first trip to Mexico was to this unknown Baja destination and we instantly fell in love with it! The islands of Loreto are a UNESCO world heritage site and are also called the Galapagos of North America. if you love marine life and pristine islands – add this gem of a destination to your list stat.
Fiji boasts of some gorgeous islands and we can vouch for that! Visit the Yasawas or the Mamanuca Islands for that perfect tropical couples island vacay. Check out my guide to Fiji HERE.
Thailand is the ideal exotic yet budget travel destination for couples. Phuket is a great base to start where you can visit an ethical elephant sanctuary, beach hop or visit the stunning Phi Phi Islands. Check out my must do’s HERE.

The beaches in Turks and Caicos totally won us over instantly especially in terms of its pristine water and sand quality, cleanliness, lack of trash or seaweed, etc.These crystal clear turquoise waters and white sand beaches are trademarks to the over 40 islands and cays that make up the Turks and Caicos Islands. Situated in central Turkey, Cappadocia is unlike any other destination I have been to with its unique landscape of fairy chimneys, rock castles, cave houses, pastel colored valleys, historic underground cities and so much more. It is mystical, magical and ethereal in every way and easily one of the most romantic places we have traveled to. Catch my full travel guide HERE.
Whether its Kenya, Tanzania or any other stunning safari destination in Africa – a safari is a bucketlist experience you must experience atleast once in your lifetime! From game drives to hot air balloon safaris to luxury lodges and of course spending time with the big 5 ; Africa is truly magical. Napa and Sonoma and some of our favorite places in California and in the US! Napa is more than just excellent wines. Whether you are a wine lover or not, you are bound to fall in love with the beautiful landscapes in California wine country, incredible dining, chic hotels and inns, and the overall rustic charm of this destination. Known for its incredibly charming landscapes from the dramatic UNESCO listed Pitons to sparkling waters, lush rainforests, volcanoes and more – its no surprise that St Lucia is one of the most popular honeymoon destinations. It is as romantic as it is beautiful. If you go, you must stay at Sugar Beach Viceroy, the only hotel located in the beach between the Pitons.
Costa Rica is such a diverse destination and a great choice for couples that love nature and the outdoors! It is blessed with volcanoes, rainforests, beaches and of course a plethora of amazing luxury hotels. We loved going glamping at Kasiiya Papagayo where we got the best of both worlds – the tropical jungle and the beach.
