We were itching for a quick tropical escape and Costa Rica is always an easy favorite for us especially for the easy flight to get here from California. I have been wanting to stay at the stunning Four Seasons Costa Rica for the longest time and I am so thrilled we got the chance to finally experience this property this time around.
Four Seasons Costa Rica, the number 1 luxury resort in Central America is located on the unspoiled Papagayo Peninsula, an exclusive area in the Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica. Known for its pristine natural beauty, the resort combines opulence with eco-conscious design, offering guests a unique blend of comfort and immersion in nature.
Location wise the resort is absolutely stunning – nestled between two pristine white sandy beaches and surrounded by lush tropical forests, secluded beaches, and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. It’s approximately a 40-minute drive from Liberia International Airport in Costa Rica.
The resort offers a variety of accommodations, including guest rooms, suites, and private villas. Many rooms feature breathtaking views of the ocean, beaches, or surrounding jungle.
We stayed in a king bedroom Cielo room. Our room was so spacious with a vast bedroom and living area, bathroom and private terrace with views of the ocean.
The resort also has villas and private residences that are ideal for families or groups, offering spacious layouts, private pools, and personalized services. We got to visit their three bedroom canopy villa at Prieta Bay and it was drop dead gorgeous. This spacious villa is nestled in a tropical paradise and provides breathtaking views of Prieta Bay and the surrounding lush greenery.
The villa is designed with indoor-outdoor living in mind, featuring expansive terraces, a private infinity-edge pool, and direct access to the beach. It includes three well-appointed bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, and large living spaces. Floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors create a seamless connection to the outdoors, allowing you to soak in the vibrant Costa Rican landscape.
Dining at the Four Seasons Costa Rica is a world-class culinary experience, offering a variety of restaurants and menus that reflect the region’s vibrant flavors and international influences. Here’s an overview of the dining options:
This all-day restaurant is the resort’s vibrant heart, offering Latin-inspired cuisine with a contemporary twist. Guests can enjoy tapas-style dishes, refreshing cocktails, and ocean views. In the evenings, the atmosphere is lively with a DJ and a selection of creative aperitifs.
Specializing in Italian cuisine, Pesce features fresh seafood, house-made pasta, and an extensive wine list.
A sophisticated dining space with a wood-fired open kitchen, Bahia serves a variety of locally sourced dishes, from seafood to Costa Rican specialties. It’s ideal for all-day dining and features a warm, inviting atmosphere. This is where the daily breakfast is served.
Located at the Peninsula Papagayo golf clubhouse, Nemare offers a refined dining experience with a focus on smoky flavors, inspired by the Chorotega word for “smoke.” The menu features craft cocktails and creative dishes with a local touch.
Guests can enjoy tropical cocktails and coastal-inspired fare by the pool or on the beach. This option is perfect for a laid-back dining experience with stunning sunset views.
This exclusive adults only retreat is more than just a restaurant, it’s an experience. Virador beach club was hands down my favorite part of the resort and whether you choose to relax at the cabanas, unwind at their adults only pool or enjoy some delicious Mediterranean you will be captivated by it’s bespoke idyllic vibe.
For a unique dining adventure, La Reserva offers a journey through premium Latin American rums. We did a rum and chocolate tasting here and it was so fun!
For those who prefer to dine in the privacy of their rooms or villas, the resort also offers an extensive in-room dining menu with local and international options.
