The no 1 activity I always recommend to anyone visiting Bora Bora is to get out on the lagoon and do a lagoon tour. Bora Bora lagoon is truly one of the most beautiful lagoons in the world. It is absolutely one of those places where the reality holds up to the hype! The water is really that blue, the marine life is incredible and the views of the mountain and lagoon from all over are just beyond magical.

While a group lagoon tour is budget friendly, if you are looking for something more intimate and private I highly recommend doing a private lagoon tour. This way you can go to the spots you want to and experience the Bora Bora lagoon Robinson Crusoe style.

We did this with Toa Boat Bora Bora and it was absolutely incredible. They have 3 pontoon style boats that are super comfy and many experiences to choose from. These tours are perfect if you want to do either a half day like we did for 3 hours, or full day with lunch.

This spot was such a dream! The water was so warm and shallow and the views were unmatched.

Snorkeling with rays and sharks :

This is a popular thing to do in Bora Bora and the advantage of doing a private tour is you can visit it before or after the other crowds have been here. I have done this so many times and every single time I swim with the sharks and rays, it still feels so surreal.

Exploring a nearby uninhabited motu :
