Bora Bora is the epitome of a romantic island getaway, it is personally one of our favorite places in the world. We are grateful to have visited a few times in the past and have stayed across a few properties across Bora Bora. I have a detailed travel guide to Bora Bora, but I also wanted to share this quick blog post on the 6 best luxury resorts in Bora Bora and what we loved about each of them. They are all absolutely gorgeous and you really can’t go wrong with any of these resorts.

My favorite resorts in Bora Bora in no particular order :

1 ) FOUR SEASONS BORA BORA

The Four Seasons Bora Bora was no 1 on my list of hotels to stay at in the world! It is a true gem located in perhaps the best location in Bora Bora. The resort is great for couples and families too. It is definitely on the pricier side – but 100% worth it for the five star luxury and hospitality.  Exceptional service, luxe overwater villas and an overall incredible experience makes this one of my favorite places we have stayed ever. What we loved most about Four Seasons Bora Bora :

• the stunning resort grounds – smaller, more intimate and just so picturesque. The part of the lagoon that Four Seasons is on is my favorite part of Bora Bora.
• best views of Mount Otemanu
• overwater villas – the villas seemed more modern and I love how the bathtubs had a view of the mountain
• beautiful lagoonarium area
• main beach area had epic views of Mount Otemanu
• FS app – like any Four Seasons resort, I loved the seamless FS app to help streamline all aspects of your stay.

 

2 ) ST REGIS BORA BORA

Another bucketlist stay was the iconic St Regis Bora Bora! The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort is a luxurious and picturesque resort located on its own private motu in Bora Bora. It is the only Forbes 5 star resort in Bora Bora and is renowned for its exceptional service, stunning natural beauty, featuring crystal-clear turquoise waters, lush tropical landscapes, and breathtaking views of Mount Otemanu. What we loved most about St Regis Bora Bora :

• huge resort – we had bikes to drive around everywhere, the island had many corners to explore.
• The part of the lagoon that St Regis is on is my favorite part of Bora Bora.
• best views of Mount Otemanu
• the biggest overwater villas in French Polynesia and South Pacific! I loved the spacious luxe villas.
• Butler service – a gamechanger! Having a butler to help you with everything from restaurant reservations to booking activities is so amazing.
• best food – overall we had the best culinary experience at the St Regis.
• hospitable staff – staff wise too, everyone was so incredible. The staff really stood out to us here.
• beautiful lagoonarium area with lots of tropical fish and coral – the best resort lagoonarium.

 

3 ) LE BORA BORA BY PEARL RESORTS

Le Bora Bora is a beautiful luxury resort in Bora Bora that has the best of both worlds – luxury and authentic Polynesian hospitality. It is the only Relais and Châteaux property in Bora Bora and sits on Motu Tevairoa, only a ten-minute boat ride from the airport and fifteen minutes across the lagoon from the village of Vaitape. Location wise Le Bora Bora is amazing – both because of its proximity to the airport and mainland, but also due to its magnificent views of Mount Otemanu. Check out my full BLOG POST HERE.

What we loved most about Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts :

• Le Bora Bora felt like a luxurious escape in paradise but it still retained the laidback and authentic Polynesian vibes, which is the reason we keep going back to all the Pearl Resorts of Tahiti!
• newly upgraded, so the villas are absolutely gorgeous!
• It sits in one of the most breathtaking areas of the lagoon where you see the stark contrast of the two shades of blue. Most overwater villas have access to a shallow lagoon which totally feels like a swimming pool. Unlike other resorts where the water is deep.
• amazing local Polynesian food

 

4 ) CONRAD BORA BORA NUI RESORT

Conrad Bora Bora Nui has stunning, spacious overwater villas and hillside suites offer incredible privacy with stunning views of Mount Otemanu and the lagoon. I loved the resort’s vivid blue waters and soft sand beaches, and its house reef is fantastic for snorkeling right off your villa, full of colorful fish and rays. The combination of modern luxury, Polynesian charm, and crystal-clear waters makes every moment here feel completely magical. Check out my full BLOG POST HERE.

What we loved most about Conrad Bora Bora Nui :

• Conrad felt like a more lush island getaway, as unlike other resort motus it also had its own little hill.
• best resort beach – half a mile long with soft white sands.
• clifftop villas – unique accomodation in Bora Bora
• vibrant house reef for snorkeling
• modern newly renovated villas

 5 ) INTERCONTINENTAL BORA BORA RESORT & THALASSO SPA

If you are looking for an amazing group of hotels to stay across both Tahiti and Bora, the Intercontinental French Polynesia group is your best bet. They have 1 resort in Tahiti and 2 in Bora Bora. The 2 resorts in Bora Bora are IC Thalasso ( more luxurious and located on its own motu) and IC Moana (on the mainland and slightly cheaper). We absolutely loved our stay at IC Thalasso especially cos of the beautiful views of Mount Otemanu, amazing overwater villas and the very friendly staff.  6) THE WESTIN BORA BORA RESORT AND SPA

 

The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa is the newest resort in Bora Bora. This stunning resort opened in September 2024, making it the first new resort on the island in over 7 years. Formerly Le Méridien, this property has been completely reimagined — and let me tell you, the transformation is incredible! We had a chance to visit in May 2025 and were blown away. What we loved most about Westin Bora Bora :

• BRAND NEW! Biggest plus point since most of the other resorts are older.
• Villas were very airy, bright and modern.
• We had bikes to drive around everywhere, the island had many corners to explore.
• closest views of Mount Otemanu since it sits facing the middle of the mountain!
• most number of overwater villas in any resort in Bora Bora, so many different categories to choose from.
