The Ultimate Travel guide to French Polynesia

  1. Ken says:

Am I really the first to comment? Well okay! Very nice overview with lovely photos. We are looking at a trip to French Polynesia in 2025 and we would like to see at least 5 islands over a 3-4 week stay. Top picks: Nuku Hiva, Hiva Oa, Fatu Hiva, Mo’orea, Taha’a, Fakarava and Rangiroa, and of course flying in and out of Tahiti.

  2. Renee Ballard says:

I would like to do 2 islands in addition to the main island Tahiti, do you have 2 you’d recommended.?
Right now I’m thinking of going to the island of Moorea and Bora Bora. I read on your blog how to get to Moorea ( ferry or plane.). Do you how I can get from Moorea to Bora Bora.?

    • jyotsnacs says:

Yes I would recommend those 3. To get to Bora Bora I would recommend ferrying back to Tahiti from Moorea and then taking a domestic flight to Bora Bora from Tahiti.

  3. Rosario Murdie says:

    thanks for the information,
also I would like to ask you what do you think of the cruises? that goes to Polynesia?
    some advice?
thanks so much for your time and effort

    • jyotsnacs says:

I personally prefer spending more time on the islands which is why I dont do the cruise. But a cruise can be a good way if you want to see many islands in one trip, Windstar, Paul Gauguin are both great.

  4. Amara says:

Loved reading your post! Maybe in April, I would only have one week, or July I can go longer but thinking that it would be crowded. Any suggestion? Less likely I would get a second time. So thinking..the three island, Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora. But then I also want to seethe birds and the second largest Island.

If you have only 1 week to 10 days I think you shouls stick to Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora. It takes a long time to go to the other islands.
