During our time in Hvar, we wanted to split our stay across Hvar town and Stari Grad, to get two unique experiences. In Stari Grad, we stayed at the gorgeous Maslina Resort, which is quite arguably the best luxury resort in Hvar and one of the best resorts in all of Croatia too. Maslina, a Relais and Chateâux property,  is a mindful luxury resort that has sustainability as one of its core principles.

The minute you enter the property it feels like you have set foot in a bespoke Mediterranean getaway. The location couldn’t be more spectacular, right in front of the beautiful Maslinica Bay on the north coast of Hvar ; just 20 minutes from hvar town but feels like a world away.

I was in love with the stunning decor and aesthetic all over the property, but specifically at the main lobby area, restaurant and bar area. Natural tones, sustainable materials and chic spaces!

Maslina has a total of 53 spacious rooms, suites, and villas, all of which enjoy stunning sea views, total privacy, and absolute comfort. We stayed in one of their one bedroom panoramic rooms.

I loved the perfect blend of Mediterranean simplicity meets French art styles in their suite decor, which was all made with natural materials such as wood, stone and metal. The views from our bed and balcony of the bay were absolutely stunning, something we loved waking up to.

The main restaurant at Maslina had a gorgeous indoor – outdoor space giving it an airy feel. Our culinary experience here was nothing short of incredible. The cuisine at Maslina Resort respects local ingredients and producers and recognizes seasonality, with many ingredients harvested from their Organic Garden. Daily a la carte menus with tasting menu options are complemented by international wines, spirits, and classic and craft cocktails inspired by the island of Hvar.

We absolutely loved our dinner here on the first night – the pasta- the spagetti and gnocchi were excellent! Our daily breakfasts here were also amazing with lots of selection of fresh fruit, juices, local favorites, etc.

Maslina also has a chic beachfront bar called A Bar, the perfect spot for some golden hour cocktails! The pebbled beach area here is such a vibe! They have comfy lounge areas on decks right by the waterfront, perfect for an afternoon by the water.

They also have two beautiful pools on property both tucked amidst the olive trees and have sweeping views of the Bay. Other activities on property include an amazing spa, fitness center and wellness center that includes yoga, sauna, dark room and more. There is also a concierge on property that would be glad to assist you in booking other island excursions and activities.

Overall we had a wonderful stay at Maslina Resort and can’t recommend it enough if you are ever visiting Hvar!
