Dead Sea, Jordan
2022 seems to be the year of revenge travel for many. With the world opening up in 2021 and more destinations safely opening their borders there is so much to choose from. I wanted to roundup 9 destinations that would be perfect for travel in 2022 according to different regions around the world :
Yasawa Islands, Fiji
Fiji recently opened its borders on December 1st, check out all the conditions for entry here. With an easy direct 9 hour flight from San Francisco its closer than you think it is! Fiji boasts of some gorgeous islands and we can vouch for that! The Yasawas are in the northwestern corner of the Fijian island archipelago and are home to some of the best remote unspoiled islands in all of Fiji. These islands represent the ultimate “island life” that you can imagine – no commercialization or modernization, just raw natural beauty that is simply breathtaking. Check out my travel guide to Fiji HERE.
Phi Phi Islands, Thailand
Thailand is another destination that recently opened for tourism. Since today January 11th, vaccinated tourists can now enter Krabi, Phang Nga, and Koh Samui in addition to Phuket under the so-called sandbox program that won’t require them to go through quarantine, provided they spend at least a week in these destinations. I was actually supposed to head back to Thailand this month, but unfortunately had to push it out to another time! It is such a beautiful destination with so much to offer from nature to food to culture and more. Check out my travel guide to Phuket HERE.
Shoal Bay, Anguilla
Ok I’ll admit it straight off the bat – Anguilla is probably my favorite Caribbean island (very closely followed by Antigua) ! Its a little bit more special to me cos for me the no 1 thing I look for is the quality of beaches and man oh man – Anguilla is heaven on earth! Anguilla has been consistently voted best Caribbean island by several travel publications for years in a row and it totally deserves that title! Check out my travel guide to Anguilla HERE.
Felicite Island, Seychelles
The Seychelles has been touted as one of the most beautiful islands in the world and it completely exceeded our expectations ! The Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 granite and coral islands in the Indian Ocean, just off of East Africa. It’s home to numerous pristine beaches, coral reefs and nature reserves, as well as rare animals such as giant Aldabra tortoises and rare plants such as the Coco de Mer. We island hopped across Mahe, La Digue, Praslin and Felicite, read more in my travel guide HERE.
The easiest trip to paradise from the US! Perfect for a long weekend with friends or family, check out my 5 favorite places in Mexico HERE. If you are looking for an untouched paradise in Mexico – I highly recommend Loreto in the Baja!
Last summer, it seemed like everyone was either in Italy or Greece! And rightfully so, cos these are such beautiful destinations for a European summer. I have been to both but prefer Greece a whole lot more! Check out all my Greece travel guides HERE. If you are looking for offbeat Greek isles – you must visit Milos and Paros!
I couldn’t not include at least one destination in my beautiful home state of California. Napa Valley is one of my favorite destinations in the US and I am so grateful that we live less than 2 hours away and so we can easily head there just for a day trip or a quick weekend getaway. This year there are so many new luxury resorts opening up in the area including Four Seasons Napa, a new Auberge resort, Montage Healdsburg and more! Check out my guide to Napa HERE.
With one visit to Colombia I am convinced I want to return back asap thanks to its beautiful culture, history, food and so much more. We only visited Cartagena the first time around but if you visit definitely add Medellin, Bogota and the Cocora Valley to your itinerary! Check out my travel guide to Cartagena in Colombia HERE.
This beautiful country easily goes down in both Anush and my list of our top fave places we have visited ever. From Petra to Wadi Rum to the Dead Sea and more, a trip to Jordan is sure to give you the most diverse experience. Check out my travel guide to Jordan HERE.
