It has always been a dream of mine to visit Cappadocia! Everything about it totally fascinated me – the hot air balloons, fairy chimneys, outerworldly landscapes and of course the cave living! The main town of Goreme alone has over 250 cave suites (isn’t that crazy?!) so finding one that stands out from the rest was super important to me. Â If you plan to travel to Cappadocia, where you choose to stay will definitely add to your overall experience, as much as going on a hot air balloon ride, checking out the beautiful valleys, etc. During our time in Cappadocia we stayed at the beautiful Koza Cave Hotel in the town of Goreme and our choice couldn’t have been more perfect. Stay tuned for an incredible discount offer at the end of the post!
Koza Cave Hotel is a cozy family run boutique hotel with just 10 authentic cave suites and the highest rooftop in all of Goreme! I have stayed at a ton of places through my travels and there are a few gems that really really stand out from the rest – Koza Cave Hotel was certainly one among them. This charming family run boutique hotel literally felt like a home away from home in the exotic fairytale land of Cappadocia. The family that runs it are some of the most kind and genuine hosts I have met, and gave us such an authentic and intimate stay. They were all so friendly and accommodating; by the end of my trip I felt like they were my long lost friends and family and it was so hard to say goodbye!
What I also love about Koza, is its emphasis on sustainability and eco tourism. Grey water is reused, and recycled materials and local handcrafted furniture are utilized in abundance to create unique sophisticated spaces throughout the hotel.

Terraces at every level with gorgeous views all around
All the cave rooms are centered around a small courtyard that has amazing views from terraces on several different levels. There are different types of cave suites and we experienced staying in both the deluxe suite as well as the cave suite. Each cave suite is decorated in traditional style – homey bedspreads, tribal carpets on the floors and walls, wrought-iron bed frames, and with eco-sensitive twist as I mentioned earlier. The owner created many of the unique lamps and furniture pieces by up-cycling salvaged materials which I thought was so cool and such a unique personal touch. If you looking to stay at the best suite at Koza – you must check out their amazing king suite which has a private balcony with some pretty epic views. Living in these ancient cave dwellings felt beyond surreal, such an incredible experience.

My absolute favorite part about Koza was its magical terrace! Being the highest terrace in all of Goreme you are guaranteed the best seat in the house for watching the hot air balloons at sunrise. This bucket list experience of watching the hot air balloons light up at the break of dawn and glide through the skies during sunrise was something so indescribable ; it was beyond breathtaking. Something that we will cherish for the rest of our lives! The balloons came so close to the rooftop too, I couldn’t believe my eyes!
The most magical morning ever! On the highest terrace in Goreme at Koza.
A dream come true!
This terrace also turns into “Dusk by Koza” at sunset during summer hours. Rooftop drinks at sunset over this spectacular view sounds like such a fun evening, dosen’t it?
Below the terrace is the quaint dining room and terrace where the family serves its guests a delicious Turkish breakfast every morning. We absolutely loved the traditional homemade spread here especially the baked Turkish goodies – so yummy.

And did I mention the cutest members of the family who owns the hotel – Kiki and Mimi! Their super cute house cats 🙂 we grew very fond of each other by the end of our stay and I was contemplating all the ways to bring Kiki back with me haha!

Koza is also located very close to downtown Goreme, close to all the shops, restaurants and other attractions in town. It was super convenient to walk around everywhere. To check out other sites around Cappadocia like Uchisar, Rose valley, Pasabag, etc we rented out a car and driver also through Koza which was extremely helpful to get around, You can also choose to drive around yourself if you rent a car out on your own. I also cover all the details on things to do in Cappadocia, how to get there, travel tips, etc in my Cappadocia travel guide so check that out for more!
