French Polynesia – the country that has beautiful islands such as Moorea, Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc is reopening on May 1st to vaccinated travelers without quarantine. Unvaccinated travelers will need to quarantine for 10 days. Both vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers will need a COVID test 3 days before departure and during their stay too. Check out all the travel requirement details in Tahiti Tourism‘s website.
We spent an entire week in Bora Bora and split our time across three resorts during our time there. For our third and final stay in Bora Bora we checked into the luxurious Conrad Bora Bora Nui, the newest luxury resort addition to Bora Bora. This resort was previously the Hilton Bora Bora and reopened after renovations under the Conrad brands of Hilton, in March 2017.
The Conrad sits on a unique location quite different than the other resorts we stayed at and I absolutely loved the change of scenery and the hip vibe of this stunning property. The resort is located on the southwest end of Motu To’opua, a small islet floating between Bora Bora’s mainland and coral reef and is best accessed by the resort’s private boat that will pick you up from the Bora Bora airport. Among many accolades it has won over the years in the luxury category it was recently awarded #2 in the top 5 resorts in the South Pacific in Travel and Leisure’s Worlds Best awards.
Now onto the fun parts 🙂 – recapping our wonderful stay here at the Conrad Bora Bora Nui.
The property has many types of villa accommodations to choose from and differ based on their size, amenities and the view that the villa has. Each guest room and suite features Polynesian design and amazing views all around. There are a range of villas that are also perfect based on what kind of vacation you are on – a honeymoon, family vacation etc; there is something for everyone!
Private pool in our King Otemanu View Overwater Villa
This is also the only property to also have hilltop villas that offer a spectacular birds eye view of the entire resort and lagoon, and also has the only 2 storey Presidential villas in all of Bora Bora. There are a few villas which also offer a view of Mount Otemanu so of course we had to choose this villa! Our King Otemanu View Pool Overwater villa was super luxurious with plush interiors, a spacious living and bathroom space and best of all – an insane outdoor deck! The private outdoor deck had an infinity private pool, an overwater hammock, direct lagoon access with amazing snorkelling right at our villa and an unparalleled view of Mount Otemanu. Some fun features that the room had were a hidden TV and Bluetooth connectivity so that you can hook your device and listen to music on the deck or in the villa!

Could never get over our incredible view from our deck!
Best view to wake up to!
The walk to our villa was so beautiful and I must say at this resort we saw some of the most vivid shades of blue in the lagoon – ranging from a deep cobalt blue to aqua to turquoise. Since the resort is so vast and spread out it also offers complimentary bikes to explore around easily.
Insane blue waters like I have never seen before!
Love these stunning pontoon views
My absolute favorite part of the entire resort was their main beach! Conrad Bora Bora boasts to have the longest private stretch (half a mile long!) of soft white sand beaches in all of Bora Bora. Compared to the other beaches I had been to in Bora Bora, the sand here was much softer and less coarse/rocky. The beach stretches over 3 very spacious coves and it always feels like you have your own little private strip of paradise.
Best Beach in Bora Bora! and I have it all to myself!
I mean… look at that that water!
It also has this dreamy palm tree grove right by one of the coves – the perfect spot for an afternoon relaxing under the palms or in your own little cabana.
Dreamiest palm tree grove
The beach is also a beautiful location to catch the sunset sky – pure magic!
Sunsets on the beach
It also has this gorgeous infinity pool right in the center of the resort. I loved these lounge chairs in the water! The water activity center is right next to the pool and offers guests a range of complimentary activities like snorkeling, kayaking, stand-up paddle boards, etc.

There are so many other activities and amenities at Conrad – such as cultural activities (how to open a coconut, coco leaf braiding, lei making etc), kids club, fitness center, spa, lagoon excursions etc. The Hina Spa is perched right atop the hill at Conrad Bora Bora and offers a range of amazing spa services to unwind and relax. We loved the breathtaking views from here as well as the from the view point located right next to the spa.

Dining options are in abundance and are sure to satisfy your culinary experience with six restaurants and bars on property. We loved the Banyan Chinese restaurant on property for dinner, the Tamure beach grill for a toes in the sand lunch and our daily breakfast buffets at the Iriatai restaurant. For an intimate experience if you are visiting for a honeymoon or special occasion, check out their private dining option on Motu Tapu , their very own private islet.
In room dining! Tropical island brekkie anyone?!
Buffet breakfast – masks on while serving; take your own plates and serving utensils.

We were lucky to have clear and beautiful weather throughout our stay here! We also witnessed some of the best sunsets of the trip here. One of my fave spots for sunset here is by the black rocks at the far end of the property (towards the view of Mount Otemanu). This was on our last night in Bora Bora and was the perfect end to a trip of a lifetime.
Most magical sunset sky!
Crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches
Tropical vibes forever
Spotted eagle rays right outside our villa!
LOVE this gorgeous floral crown! You can learn to make your own at the Conrad activities centre!
Every corner is like a picture perfect postcard!
Cherishing this moment for life
