A few months ago I shared my nighttime skincare routine, so long overdue I have been meaning to share my Daytime Skincare Routine as well. Most of these products in my daytime skincare regimen are all under the “Clean Beauty” category in Sephora. As I spoke in this blog post recently I do love clean beauty ingredients and I am slowly but surely trying to turn around my vanity to make sure I have safe and clean ingredients going on my skin for the most part. Since doing this I have seen a significant improvement in my overall skin health as well.
Here are all the products in my Daytime Skincare Routine :
STEP 1 : CLEANSER
I always start off with washing and cleansing my face ; I love using an oil based cleanser (cos it retains the moisture in your skin without clogging pores) first like this Kopari cleansing oil and then wash again with a creme cleanser like this REN Cleansing Milk. Twice a week I also add an exfoliator in my cleansing step.
STEP 2 : FACIAL TONING
Every alternate day I also love using the NuFace facial toning device with their gel cream as a base. Over the long run I have seen incredible improvement using this! In the long run, this works wonders and saves you a ton of money and effort than doing Botox regularly. I have done both and do prefer using the Nuface religiously every week.
STEP 3 : TONER
Next up I spritz my face with my absolute fave alcohol free toner like the Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Toner or the Kopari’s Rose toner. Its an everyday essential that I also love to spray through the day whenever my face needs a refresh.
STEP 4 : EYE CREAM
For a day time eye cream I love using a pea size amount of the Sephora Brightening eyecream that helps hydrate and depuff.
STEP 5 : VITAMIN C DROPS
I was told by both my dermatologist and aesthetician this golden rule for anti aging that the magic three of “Vitamin C, SPF and Retinol” are the only scientifically proven ingredients that can impact on how skin ages. So definitely dont skimp out on these 3 ingredients. I use the first two daily in the day and retinol on every other night.
I started adding this incredible Vitamin C serum Skinceuticals C E Ferulic to my beauty routine and my skin has never looked more radiant. Vitamin C is a crucial ingredient that needs to be in your skincare routine as it helps promote healthy collagen, is anti aging and evens out your skin tone. This particular Vitamin C is a patented daytime vitamin C serum that delivers advanced environmental protection and improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, loss of firmness, and brightens skin’s complexion. Its pricey, but even 3-5 drops is sufficient daily, so it lasts for awhile and is so so worth it!
STEP 6 : SERUM
For an added Vitamin C boost – my go to serum is the Drunk Elephant C firma Vitamin C Day Serum. I also recently tried Glow Recipe’s Pineapple Vitamin C Serum and its been great so far, so I will keep you posted on how I feel about it long term! I love using a jade face roller while applying my Serum every once in a while.
STEP 7 : MOISTURIZER + FACE OIL
After my serum I wait a minute or two to make sure its absorbed and then moisturize my face. I always love giving a few recommendations especially for something like a moisturizer – few clean ones I love are Kopari face cream, REN’s Daytime cream, the cult fave Drunk Elephant Polypeptide moisturizer and Glow Recipe’s watermelon moisturizer (my absolute current fave!). So I will use either one of these. I always add a few drops of a face oil like the Drunk Elephant’s Virgin Marula Oil to my moisturizer. Face oil is my no 1 beauty essential – read this blog post on why you need to add a face oil to your routine stat, if you don’t already do.
STEP 8 : LIP BALM
For a longlasting and hydrating clean lip balm – I love the Kopari lip glossy or the Fresh lip balm.
STEP 9 : SUNSCREEN
Lastly I never step finish without sunscreen – another powerful product for anti aging. My fave face sunscreens are the Supergoop unseen sunscreen or the COOLA drops . If you prefer a tinted sunscreen I absolutely love the Ilia Super serum skin tint sunscreen (shade ST10) and its incredible- great for everyday wear.
