For the second half of our trip to the Philippines, we went to the beautiful island of Coron in Palawan. Here we checked into a super cute boutique hotel called The Funny Lion. This luxury resort is conveniently located just about 5-10 minutes away from Coron town and 30 minutes from the airport.
They have 32 rooms on property. We stayed in a king room and it was clean, comfortable and spacious. They also have a cub room (with twin beds) as well as a Pride room perfect for a family.
I loved the mix of sleek industrial and tropical jungle vibes of this resort.
My favorite area in the resort was this gorgeous infinity pool, set amidst the lush tropics. It was the perfect spot to lay out in the afternoon or for a quick morning swim.
As for dining, they have a restaurant on property called the Hunt Restaurant. Aside from the daily breakfast, we pretty much ate all our dinners here. Every meal here was so delicious. We especially loved the Saturday night grill buffet here where there was live music, a fresh seafood bar as well as tons of yummy Filipino delicacies.
They also have a tiki bar by the pool and a rooftop bar called the Pride Rock Deck which is the perfect spot to catch the sunset over Coron Bay with a drink in hand. There are also two jacuzzis here on the rooftop.
As for other activities they also have a small spa on property where Anush and I opted for a Raja oil massage on one of the days and it was amazing. They also have bikes that you can rent if you wish to go explore Coron town.
Island hopping is one of the highlights when visiting Coron as the island has some of the most pristine beaches, azure lagoons and crystal clear lakes in the country. We went on two private boat tours on two separate days and we booked our tour through the concierge at the Funny Lion. They were so helpful in making sure we were booked in on the right tour that we wanted and helped us finalize all the details in our itinerary. Should you wish to book any tour the team at Funny Lion will be ok great assistance to you. Ill be recapping all details about our boat tours in my Coron Travel Guide next week, stay tuned.
All in all we had a wonderful stay here at the Funny Lion and totally recommend it if you visit Coron.
Thanks for stopping by! xoxo
