For the second half of our stay in Antigua, we chose to stay on the north of the island. As I mentioned in my previous post the north and south of Antigua are both diverse and beautiful in their own way which is why I wanted to split my time between the two coasts to get the best of both. One of the best places to stay here is undoubtedly Blue Waters Resort situated on the northwestern corner of Antigua. It has an overall idyllic casual yet luxurious vibe and a stunning location surrounded by azure blue waters all around – so yes it stays very true to its name!
Whether you are looking for a family vacay, girls trip or even a honeymoon – Blue Waters has something to offer for every traveller. It is perfectly located just 20 minutes from the airport and close to other tourist attractions in the north as well.

I love how vast and expansive the resort was – it has several freshwater pools, three secluded beach coves and 17 acres of stunning tropical gardens all around. Even though the resort was almost at full occupancy for the days we were there, we never for once felt like it was crowded ever! The entire resort is so tastefully decorated and has the perfect blend of contemporary meets Caribbean chic vibes.
Around the resort
We had the chance to stay at one of the resort’s recently renovated Cove Suites. These exclusive suites and penthouses are situated away from the main resort and are ideal if you prefer seclusion and privacy. Each Cove Suite features modern beach decor, uninterrupted views of the Caribbean Sea from private patios/balconies as well as a private infinity pool reserved for each Cove Suite. Our suite was so spacious, with a large bedroom and living area, balcony with a million dollar view and an equally spacious bathroom. The Cove Suites are ideal for families staying together or as a romantic haven for couples.

Blue Waters is wrapped around Soldier’s Bay, ensuring its three beaches are practically private. In fact, its beaches are so secluded that you might even think you are on a private island! These three coves have perfectly calm waters to swim in and are lined with white beach chaises and umbrellas that make it look so utterly gorgeous.

And the resort has tons of pools just steps away from the beaches if thats what you prefer. There is an exclusive picturesque and secluded adults-only pool as well as other family friendly pools on property.
Pool areas
As for other activities – there are tons to choose from – from tennis, golf, spa, water sports and more!
When it comes to dining options, you can either opt for the bed and breakfast option or the all inclusive option. The all inclusive option is what we did and it was incredible as we were spoilt for choice with the 3 restaurants and 4 bars on property.

We had breakfast every morning at The Palm restaurant which offers a Caribbean al fresco dining experience through the day. In the evenings, this is a great casual option to enjoy drinks and dinner by the water along with some live music. If you are around the pool area for lunch, don’t forget to try the delicious flatbreads at Carolyn’s !

My absolute fave restaurant on property was the Cove Restaurant; situated on a cliff top, when you enter this romantic restaurant you will be mesmerized by breath-taking views of the Caribbean Sea, especially at sunset! The cuisine features a Caribbean and French cuisine blend. We had dinner here on on of the nights and every dish we had from appetizer to the desserts were amazing!

One of my favorite parts of the resort was this Gazebo – how stunning would it be for a wedding or even a special dinner!

Overall we had a wonderful stay at Blue Waters resort and highly recommend it for any of your visiting Antigua in the future. Also just FYI – the tourism board of Antigua and Barbuda currently has a summer trivia sweepstakes going on where you can win a vacay to Blue Waters, so go enter now!
