If you didn’t know already I am a huge fitness buff! An adrenaline filled workout is my favorite way to start the day and it totally keeps me energized all day long. I am sure like most of you, in my opinion there’s nothing better than cute activewear to keep you motivated! Carbon 38 is one of my fave online retailers to shop for the best luxury active apparel online. They carry so many of my fave activewear brands like Varley, Alo Yoga, Alala, etc and also have their own inhouse Carbon38 label.
This set I am wearing is from the Carbon38 brand. I love this high waisted glossy legging ; the wide waistband keeps things in place in any activity while technical, supportive fabric creates a flattering shape. It comes in a ton of different colors and in a regular waisted and shorts version too. The best part about this legging is its versatility! Try it in a classic like black, and you can easily transition it from gym to street. I paired it with this high neck tank; which is also super versatile and comes in other colors too. This is such a great essential to add to your workout wardrobe as the back hem on this tank can be worn in two ways: tie it for a sporty look or let it loose for a dramatic look over jeans for a night out.
Also loving this set from gorgeous set from Varley – the best part about it is its ultra comfy seamless fit which literally feels like second skin. The top and leggings have mesh panels for breathability and ventilation. They also come in a ton of other colors.
I love mixing things up and trying out new workouts every now and then to keep myself motivated and challenge my body. You can see this blog post here on my tips on staying fit as well a little about my fitness journey. Whether it is trying out a new at home fitness routine or popping in to any of my fave fitness studios in and around the bay, its always fun to keep things interesting, fun and challenging at the same time. So here are some of my fave workouts – both outside and at home :
Fave Workout Studios :
I love trying new classes in and around the bay. The ones I am currently doing are F45 and Lagree mixed in with some at home workouts (no 1 and 2 below) :
1 ) F45 Training at F45 North Sunnyvale :
After hearing all about this Aussie rage, I recently tried F45 at the F45 Training North Sunnyvale and I was instantly hooked! I absolutely love their HIIT style of circuit workouts! With over 27 different 45 minute workouts (and more currently in development), no workout is ever the same and each one is so fun and challenging! They offer both cardio and resistance training style of workouts so its a great overall workout. Read more about my experience at F45 in my blog post here.
2 ) Lagree Fitness at Transform MV :
wearing Spiritual Gangster ; shop similar sets at Carbon 38.
The best low impact workout I have tried and absolutely love is without a doubt – lagree fitness! I try and do this 2-3 times a week at Transform Mountain View. The megaformer offers a full body conditioning workout (and especially good for the core) that uses continuous, constant tension to strengthen, tighten, and tone the body. Its no surprise why soo many celebs are hooked onto this amazing workout.
3 ) Soul Cycle Palo Alto :
Tried a few classes of Soul and I love the energy in the class. But its not really my fave kind of Cardio (HIIT is my truee love!) so I don’t do this very often.
4 ) Title Boxing Club,MV :
I freakin’ love a good MMX or boxing class! Its so cathartic in a way and a great workout overall. Title has gyms all over the country and I have tried the one in Mountain View a few times and love it.
5 ) Turbo26 Yoga at Stanford Mall :
Always love adding a session or two of yoga in my workout schedule every week whether its at home or out. Turbo 26 has a fun concept where they offer stackable 26 minute classes that start every half hour nearly all day long. This allows you the flexibility to come for one class, or stay for two or more, which is perfect to work around busy schedules.
6) Barry’s Bootcamp Palo Alto
(**edited Oct 2019)
Recently tried Barry’s Bootcamp for the first time and I am hooked! I do a couple of classes a week mixed in with my weekly fitness routine to mix it up a bit. I love love the sprints on the treadmill here (even though I have a love hate relationship with running lol!). Running is definitely a challenge for me and thats why I have started adding it into my routine – cos if it dosen’t challenge you it wont change you right ;)?
Fave At-Home Workout programs :
You honestly don’t need to be a part of a gym/studio to get the best workout. With the right kind of workouts, motivation and discipline in both workouts + eating habits you can get achieve your fitness goals within the comfort of your own home. I am a firm believer and lover of at home workouts as that is how I started my fitness journey a couple of years ago (lost over 30 lbs doing just at home workouts like Insanity ; see below!). Here are a few of my faves that i have tried and tested; some dozens of times
1 ) All the Insanity programs :
Insanity is probably where all my fitness craze all started! Im totally indebted to Shaun T and all his amazing workout programs that helped me immensely on my journey. Some of my fave Beachbody workouts are Insanity, Asylum, Asylum 2 and Max 30 each of which I have done several times and also still randomly incorporate them in my workout schedule every week.
2 ) Kayla Itsines BBG program :
I have done both BBG 1.0 and 2.0 , each of which are 12 week programs. I especially love her resistance training circuits for arms, legs and abs which are super challenging especially in the later weeks.
3 ) Tone it up App :
I love this app and usually incorporate the daily workout in my schedule every now and then. If you sign up/pay for the actual program this would be a great program to follow to. They have a strong online community and lots of fun resources like meal plans too. This is a very good program for beginners.
4 ) Thenx app :
If you are a fan of bodyweight or calisthenics exercises, I highly recommend this app! But just an FYI – this is pretty advanced. Its super fun, challenging and great for a workout when you travel too.
5 ) DIY workouts !
Since I have been working out consistently and know a ton of exercises at the back of my head, once in awhile I love doing a fun little DIY workout. If I go to the apartment gym – I try and do sprints on the treadmill. But better yet I love a little at home workout sesh. Having a couple of essentials like a pull up bar, workout bands, ankle weights etc can easily transform your living room to a quick at home gym. I especially love doing this when I travel; resistance bands are so light and easy to travel with and they can offer an effective hotel room workout. Love this blogpost, no wonder you are in such great shape! Love the outfits too
Thank you so much!
Can you please do a blog post about your diet. Are you veg? What did you eat when you lost the 25lbs?
Thanks
Thank you for the suggestion, will definitely consider it as a topic for the future :)! I am pescetarian (I eat fish).. When I lost teh weight it was more about counting calories. I used myfitnesspal to calculate how many calories I need and tried to stick to around that..
