The second resort we stayed in Punta Cana after Barcelo Barcelo Bavaro Grand Resort was Occidental Punta Cana. As I mentioned in my previous post, both hotels were very different in their vibe; yet both had the amazing Barcelo hospitality. This gorgeous resort is a lot smaller and intimate than Barcelo Bavaro Grand. The resort is located on Cortecito Beach and the thing I loved the most about this chic resort it its Spanish-style architecture with a tropical twist – all bright and white, with tons of palm trees and lush greens all around.
When we checked in, we upgraded to the Royal Level, which is more like a mini hotel inside the resort. The Royal Level offers tons of amazing benefits like private checkin and checkout, a separate intimate pool, a super cute restaurant right by the beach and more – all ensuring a luxurious and totally private experience for an unforgettable vacation.
The resort has been recently renovated and everything looked so impeccable. We loved our luxurious superior royal level room. We had a huge living and dining area, spacious bedroom and a cool patio with an outdoor jacuzzi and a table that was perfect for lazy mornings in the room while enjoying the gorgeous wave pool view outside.

As for restaurants, Occidental Punta Cana offers a varied range of cuisine within the all inclusive program – 11 restaurants, 7 of which are à la carte, and 10 bars located all around the property. My fave was the restaurant within the royal level, the decor was so beautiful (all white and blue!) and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the seafood here – the spicy ceviche and the shrimp cocktail was amazing.

Paulina and I also requested for a beach picnic style of dinner on one of the nights and it was soo magical! If you are headed here for your honeymoon or even for a girls trip, this would be such a fun idea for a toes in the sand kinda din-din!
Our favorite bar was the Arena sports bar for royal level members that was located right on the beautiful Cortecito Beach. Even though it was a tad cloudy on most days we were here, we absolutely loved sipping on yummy pina coladas and taking an afternoon siesta on the sunloungers while being kissed by the balmy Caribbean breeze.

As for activities, there are tons of fun things to do within the resort – water activities like windsurfing, water polo, scuba diving, a spa, fitness centre, a nightclub and more. There are also 3 pools to choose from , my fave was the wave pool right outside our room.

Overall, we absolutely loved our stay here at Occidental Punta Cana and cant recommend it enough for those visiting Dominican republic in the future.
Thanks for stopping by! xoxo
