Last week my blogger girlfriend Paulina and I went to the Dominican Republic for a girls getaway with the Barcelo group of hotels. Our fun little trip was filled with sunshine, palm trees, gorgeous beaches and all the best island vibes. For our trip, we split our time across 2 properties both in Punta Cana – Barceló Bávaro Grand Resort and Occidental Punta Cana. Both resorts were absolutely fab and had such a different vibe to it , so we loved getting to experience these two properties.
First up we visited Barceló Bávaro Grand Resort. This sprawling resort is located on two miles of white sand beach and is one of the largest all-inclusive resort complexes in the Caribbean. It has two hotels – the Barceló Bávaro Palace (where we stayed) and the Barceló Bávaro Beach (Adults Only) and a huge list of attractions and amenities located right on the property.
Even though the property is so massive, it never really felt like it was too crowded, as the resort was laid out so beautifully among all the lush tropical gardens around. My favorite part about this resort – the palms for days! Being the palm tree lover that I am, I was in heaven you guys! Its such a welcoming sight and one glance at them instantly makes you feel like you are in paradise!

Guests have the option to upgrade to the premium level , which gives you multiple benefits – like private check in checkout, access to hydro therapy at the spa, and a lot more. We loved the extra benefits of being at the premium level. Our room was so spacious – with a huge bathroom, comfy bed, living area and a large balcony which had an outdoor jacuzzi and the best view of the palms and ocean outside. We loved pampering ourselves in our room right from breakfast in bed to a flower bath right on our balcony. I mean with this stunning view, it couldn’t get any better!

As for activities -where do I even start! The Resort has a Club Houses Entertainment District, a shopping promenade, 24-hour sports bar, 24-hour casino, bowling, disco, world-class spa and so much more. Its really a whole world by itself within this resort which makes it a great destination for a family vacay, girls trip, etc – there is really something in it for everyone! Even though there are 2 different resorts, guests can receive access to the facilities, amenities and services at the neighboring hotel and complimentary transportation services throughout the resort.
Dining options are also plenty – with 11 restaurants on property, you are really spoilt for choice here at Barceló Bávaro Grand Resort . During our 3 days we tried out a bunch of speciality restaurants on property which were all fab – we tried Mexican, Japanese, Mediterranean (at the Adults only resort) and more! We also loved the daily breakfast buffet at the main restaurant. There was an endless spread of all the delicious breakfast goodies – fresh fruit, pastries, a smoothie/juice bar, egg station, hot breakfast foods, local specialities and lots more! My fave was the fresh passionfruit juice – it was so so yummy and the most refreshing way to start off my days here.
The resort sits on beautiful Bavaro Beach – the glorious warm water, the white sands and the never ending palms make this one of the best beaches on the island. We loved lounging about at the beach area, sipping on ice cold coconuts and getting sandy and salty in the ocean.
The resort also has multiple pools to choose from if you prefer the pool over the beach. But with both just being footsteps away you can beach-pool hop to your hearts desire!

And did I mention that the sunsets here are so dreamy! The sky lit up in magical sunset hues every evening. It was such a treat to watch, made me want to throw my hands up in the air and do a little sunset dance haha.

We also got to check out the uber fancy Presidential Suite at the resort. This is the creme de la creme of accommodations here at the resort and would be so perfect to host a small wedding party or even for your honeymoon! My fave part about this suite was the stunning infinity pool which had a million dollar view of the entire property and ocean.

All in all, we had such a wonderful stay here at Barceló Bávaro Grand Resort and highly recommend it if you visit the Dominican Republic in the future! Stay tuned for the rest of my DR posts through this week.
Thanks for stopping by! xoxo
