For the second half of our stay in Jamaica, we stayed at beautiful Round Hill Hotel and Villas in Montego Bay. I have always had my eyes set on this Caribbean classic for the longest time and was sure that when we ever visit Jamaica, we would have to stay at this property, considered to be one of the most beautiful resorts in the Caribbean ; and rightly so. Infact it was also voted as one of top 25 resorts in the Caribbean in the 2018 World Travel Awards by Travel and Leisure earlier this week! Round hill resort is a 110-acre private enclave of luxury villas, boutique oceanfront rooms, award-winning seaside dining and an exquisite spa that lies nestled in a lush tropical hillside along a private bay of turquoise waters.
Since the very beginning, this elegant property has been a fave among many celebrities and style icons; and this tradition continues even today! You can see on their wall of fame the esteemed guests who have visited the property from Ian Fleming, Paul Mccartney, Pierce Brosnan and more recently even Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!
The entire resort captures the ideal mix of old school glamour meets warm laidback Caribbean style. The resort was recently voted as the “World’s Leading villa resort” by the World Travel awards! There are 27 luxury villas on property each with its own unique personality, yet all share a common thread of modern refinement and classic style. They all range in 2 – 6 bedrooms and are available as villa suites as well. Aside from the villas there are also 36 gorgeous oceanfront rooms in the Pineapple House designed exclusively by none other than Ralph Lauren himself. He also has his own villa on property.
We stayed at one of the oceanfront rooms at the Pineapple house and to say I was obsessed with the room would be an understatement! Every nook and corner of the room was impeccably designed with so much attention to detail in the decor. All the rooms have cool white stone floors, four poster mahagony beds and boast views of beautiful round hill bay as well as the infinity pool below.
I loved the tropical beach feel of the interiors of the room – there were splashes of white, blue, pink and lots of lush plants to evoke that island life. Our room had a towering cathedral ceiling and a large, louvered window that folded back to the best views to wake up to everyday!
Our culinary experience at Round Hill was nothing short of amazing! Every morning we started off with a sumptuous buffet breakfast – my fave part of the breakfast was all the fresh Jamaican fruit, smoothies and the homemade yogurt parfaits.
The resort has themed dinners on most nights and we loved the ones that we tried out while we were there. We tried a delicious farm to table dinner on one of the nights and a toes-in-the-sand beach bbq on an another night.
The resort practices a farm to table philosophy and has an organic garden on property from where they source most of their ingredients. Being hot sauce fanatics, we also took home some of their homemade Scotch Bonnet sauces – flavored with papaya, pineapple and mango ; so so yummy!
As for amenities, Round Hill has tons to choose from including a gorgeous infinity pool, a watersports center, a fully equipped gym as well as a stunning award-winning spa.The beach is right in front of the property has the softest white sands and calm turquoise waters – ideal for sunbathing, standup paddle boarding or relaxing.
Oh and did I mention the beach is the best seat in the house for these dreamy Jamaican sunsets!
The beachfront Spa at Round Hill is noted as one of the best resort spas in the Caribbean by Condé Nast Traveller UK and is located in a 18th century plantation house on 10 lush acres of beachfront lawn. I got the Signature Round Hill Massage on one of the afternoons and left feeling so rejuvenated. I mean, who wouldn’t?! With world class treatment and a view like this.
The fitness centre is right next to the spa and I loved being able to maintain my workout schedule while on vacay, the gym was well equipped, clean and had views for days! Both the spa and gym are at the other end of the resort which is an “adults only section”. Believe it or not but the walk towards the spa and fitness centre was by far my fave part of the property!
It was through the lush tropics had never ending views of the beautiful bay on the other side. Every afternoon Anush and I would love to relax on the hammock or on the lawn in front of the spa, it was breezy, balmy and perfect in every way.
All in all we had such a fabulous stay at Round Hill ; everything was so memorable right from our stay, food, activities as well as the incredible service. It totally lived upto my expectations and more. I highly recommend it if you are ever visiting Jamaica!
Thanks for stopping by. xoxo
