I just got back earlier this week from Miami for Miami Swim Week. Its my third consecutive Miami Swim Week and each time has been even more fun than the last! This time I went for swim week with my blogger bestie Paulina Perrucci and we stayed at the Gates South Beach. This boutique hotel is located in the heart of South Beach.
We stayed in a two queen bed room and had amazing views of the pool area and all of South Beach below us.
I loved the chic colorful decor all around the hotel that was so fitting for Miami. It was the perfect mix of clean + crisp meets warm + tropical! My favorite part was the ‘free chocolate chip cookies upon arrival’ yumm! We ended up getting these cookies every.single.night – especially after a long evening of shows and no dinner haha!
Other amenities in the hotel include an upmarket restaurant offering open-air dining, and a modern lobby bar, plus an outdoor pool, a gym and coin-operated laundry facilities. There’s also a 24-hour convenience store and a business center. I loved using the gym every morning, it was clean and basic.
The restaurant on property called Agaveros Cantina had yummy tacos and Mexican food that was perfect to snack on while at the pool or dine in the super cute restaurant. We loved the fish tacos and the mango and passionfruit mojitos at the restaurant – so yummy.
We also loved hanging out poolside at Gates South Beach. It was the perfect way to beat the crazy Miami heat and a fun way to cool off in between events/whenever we had some down time. The pool bar is right by the pool and our go to option here – pina coladas of course!
Even though Gates is not located right on the beach, it is literally a stones throw away. They have these adorable tuk tuks that shuttle you to and from the beach where you get free chairs and towels to lay out and get some much needed vitamin sea. The hotel also has bikes on property that you can rent to bike to the beach!
The best part about the location was being so close to all the shows, events and parties for Swim Week. If you have done swim week or any other fashion week in the past, you would know – the madness is real! Paulina and I had the luxury of actually being able to run back and forth to our hotel room whether to get some down time by the pool, grab a snack or even chnage from our heels to flats (very necessary after a long day of running around haha!).
