How to style a statement jacket this fall

I love a cool statement jacket, it can elevate any simple look. Every fall/winter I try and invest in atleast one statement outerwear piece. This year since velvet is such a big trend, I opted for this embroidered velvet jacket from Raga. This jacket is perfection on so many levels – intricate embroidery over supersoft velour, a boxy yet flattering fit and totally badass; it sure makes me feel like a rockstar.

1 ) Keep your outfit simple – To let the statement jacket speak for itself, I love pairing it with something casual like jeans and a tee or a simple dress underneath in a basic solid color.

2 ) Try a cool texture mix – Pair the jacket with an unusual texture . In this velvet jacket case, it would also look so fab over a sweater dress in a solid color like ivory or black.

3 ) Want to take the bold factor up another notch? Add an accessory in the same color palette as your jacket like a bootie or clutch. I loved pairing this look with these pewter booties, they complemented the work on my jacket so well.

4) If you aren’t doing the bold accessory pop, maybe try oping for a bold lip in a beautiful fall shade.
