A silky slip dress is a closet staple that you need to have in your wardrobe. This essential is so versatile and whether dressed up or down, it can elevate any look to a whole other level. Styling one can be a little tricky without making it look like you wore your lingerie outdoors. But with the right dress and accessories you can certainly make these satin pieces work. While looking for silk dresses for the fall here are few things I like to keep in mind :
) Silk dresses in gorgeous autumnal tones like the one I am wearing here from Planet Blue. Marigold is one of the hottest colors of the seasons and this dress is the perfect lil fall number for a fall date night. Other colors I love for a silky slip dress for fall are deep red, navy, olive green or neutral tones like copper, muted gold, black or blush. This dress actually comes in 7 stunning colors, all great options for the season! It also comes in a maxi version.
) I love dresses with romantic details like lace trims, a pretty neckline like the cowl neck in this one, subtle slits or a low back.
) For styling a slip dress down my favorite outerwear to throw on over is an oversized denim jacket. It has such a cool sexy-meets-cool kinda juxtaposition. For a casual look like this I prefer wearing booties or sneakers. For dressing the same dress up you can try styling it with a structured blazer and heels.
) I also love opting for a dress thats not bodycon , so that you could also layer it over a bodysuit in the winter (such a pretty option for the holidays!) or even wear a sweater over the slip dress for a fun texture mix.
) Lastly, choosing the right accessories to finish off your look – like a bold lip or layered necklaces.
