Weekend getaway to Mendocino

Two weekends ago Anush and I drove down to Mendocino for a quiet lil weekend getaway. It was our first time driving to Northern California and it was definitely love at first sight for us. The drive itself was so so gorgeous, we passed through vineyards, redwoods and finally arrived along the rugged coastline of Mendocino. Gotta love the diversity and beauty of California! We stayed at Heritage House Resort for the weekend which is a stunning oceanside property set on 37 acres along the bluffs overlooking the Pacific. This charming resort is the perfect place for a quick romantic getaway, being just about 4 hours from San Francisco. Our lil villa was so cozy and perfect, with all the amenities for a comfy stay. Our fave part was definitely the deck from where we had views for days.

Location wise too, this property is just about 5 miles from the town of Mendocino and also drivable to attractions like the vineyards in Anderson Valley and the stateparks in Fort Bragg.

For our first evening on the day we arrived, we decided to explore the gorgeous property on foot. The views were seriously breathtaking at every corner. My absolute fave spot in the entire property was this ultra pretty gazebo perched along the rustic cliffs overlooking the ocean. A lot of weddings take place here and I can only imagine how beautiful a location this would be to say “I Do!”

I wore this dreamy white Adoro Farm dress from Anthropologie for the evening. This midi has a breezy silhouette and the most ethereal details like a crochet waist and cutout details along the shoulder. I wore it by itself to enjoy the sunset by the gazebo but later on paired it with pops of red accessories like these fringe sandals and this adorable red clutch, for dinner. I was so excited that my accessory accents matched so well with this cute red door of the resort entrance! I finished the look with this choker + bracelet set from Capwell’s latest boho collection.

  1. The dress is soooo pretty! White is one of my favorite colors to wear in spring/summer. I also love your travelogue. I haven’t explored much of Northern California so this was a treat. Do more posts like these, pllleease!
