How to style a slip dress for the fall

Slip dresses were a major trend this spring summer and they are now slipping their way into fall fashion.  With a few layering tricks up your sleeves you will be able to pull off this uber sexy trend in the fall as well. Here are my tips on how to style a slip dress for the fall :

1) The best way to style a slip dress in the fall is layering it with the right jacket . I love contrasting soft and edgy textures and hence opted for a brown suede moto over the dress. Switch out the suede jacket for a leather jacket or even a long boxy blazer.

2) Pair a slinky slipdress over a cozy turtleneck and finish off with a pair of boots and a pumpkin spice latte ;).

3) Opt for slip dresses in fall hues like this gorgeous rust one I am wearing from Band of Gypsies, or colors like olive green, burgundy or mustard yellow. I love the subtle lace back, high neck and the side slits in the dress I am wearing.

4) Finish off the look with bold accessories and a dark lip . Chokers would look great with slipdresses – again the juxtaposition of edgy and romantic always makes a statement. As for my outfit I chose a beautiful dark colored tassel wrap necklace that I wrapped as a lariat, and a matching beaded necklace that I wrapped as a bracelet.
