I have always had Tulum, Mexico high on my bucket list for multiple reasons, and I am so glad we got to visit and get a flavor for this charming little Mexican town for a day. A day is certainly not enough for Tulum, but since we had limited time, we only visited the town and headed over to the Mayan ruins right after. We are sure to be back very soon and stay at Tulum for atleast a week next time! I think I have a thing for Mexican towns and its so easy to guess why – they’re all so colorful! One of my other fave posts we had shot recently was in the town of Loreto in the Baja peninsula, check it out here if you haven’t already.
Tulum is the town of my dreams, it is seriously a magical bohemian heaven. It has a relaxed, peaceful and very laidback vibe to it. Even though it is such a popular vacation spot , it still has a small town feel that I love! Tulum has SO much to offer -from the untouched beaches, spectacular Mayan ruins, incredible food, unique shopping, amazing cenotes, yoga retreats etc this is a global travel destination like none other.
One thing to keep in mind if you’re ever visiting Mexico especially in the spring/summer is the heat and humidity! The best thing to wear on a hot day is something lightweight and airy – and it dosen’t get any breezier than a little cotton white dress does it :)? This off the shoulder white dress from Tiare Hawaii is so pretty with its eyelet detail and comfy cotton fabric. I wore it along with my new fave hat from Hat Attack to keep me cool throughout the day. I love the tassel detailing on the hat – so cute. This large roomy straw tote was ideal to carry all my essentials for the day. I finished the look with these boho pom pom sandals from Mystique sandals. I have been dying to get a pair of these fun gladiator sandals since forever! Such a fun way to dress up your feet!
The town of Tulum has tons of places to eat at, and we chose to eat at this little vegan place called La Hoja Verde, everything was just delicious! A must go if you are around in town.
Next stop was the Mayan ruins of Tulum. Drop dead gorgeous in photos and even more breathtaking in person! The majestic ruins against the backdrop of the Caribbean is beyond stunning. You can also choose to go to the beach beneath the ruins when you are visiting the area.
I’ll be honest, by the end of the day we was so sad that our precious few hours in this paradise were so short lived but again we were so glad we got to experience it in the first place, so that next time we can be back for a good amount of time :). Cant wait for more adventures with my lovebug!
