Last weekend my husband and I went pumpkin picking at Rodoni farms at Santa Cruz. This is one of the only patches locally that is literally alongside the ocean, how cool is that?! The patch was on a hill along Highway 1 with stunning views of the ocean on one side and pumpkins and the corn fields on the other. I wore this simple lace dress and army green Anorak jacket, both from Band of Gypsies.
If you don’t have a utility/Anorak jacket for the fall, I think its about time you jump on this classic trend. A jacket like this is a great fall essential that you can layer over multiple outfits like a dress , jeans and a sweater, shorts and a top, skirt and a tee – seriously the options are endless. A few tips for styling an anorak jacket :
1) While wearing an anorak I love balancing off the military edginess with feminine soft details – thus I opted for the pretty embroidered lace dress.
2) Alternatively play around with print and texture. Pair the jacket with another fall classic like a plaid shirt + sweater combo, or a striped tee or a chambray shirt underneath.
3) Clinch the jacket with a belt over a dress and pair with heels for a dressier look.
And need I say my obsession with bucket bags is starting to be a problem?! I love this basic black one by J Jill, that paired perfectly with these casual Bernardo booties. These boots are super comfy and a great option for fall activities like these where you need to be on your feet all the time. I finished off the look with a hat (of course!) and beautiful jewels by Lucky Star jewels.
